The Pooleys CRP-1 is a manual flight computer with a circular slide rule on one side and a wind triangle on the other. Its scales help with speed, distance, time, fuel and unit conversions, while the wind side is used to work through wind correction and groundspeed.
Drag the heading bezel to rotate it. Move the slide up or down through the clear window, and tap an exposed slide end to switch between the low and high speed scales. Use Pencil to mark the wind window, Eraser to remove a mark, or Reset to clear your notes.
On a touchscreen, a magnifying lens shows where your pencil or eraser will touch. Drag to draw a line. For a precise dot, hold briefly, slide to aim the crosshair, then lift to place it. Adding a second finger cancels the mark and starts zooming.
Choose Calculator in the face selector. Drag the printed inner disc to align the circular scales. Move the transparent cursor independently using its arm or centre hub, with the red line as your reading index.
One finger to work. Two to zoom.
On a phone or tablet, drag a part with one finger and pinch with two to zoom. Drag empty space to turn the whole instrument. On a computer, use the mouse wheel or the zoom controls.
